FINAL CONCEPT

In the video down below, you can see our presentation of our final concept. The idea goes like this:

When a senior citizen buys a new smartphone or a tablet at Telenor, they get the offer of a special starter package. The starter package will include a leaflet describing how to use a phone or tablet, with illustrations of how to do it and where to press. The package also includes a dictionary, with technical or modern words from the digital world. The package will allow senior citizens to choose between an iOS (Apple) option and an Android option.

Furthermore, an initial meeting with a personal adviser is also a part of the package. Before going to the meeting, the customer must fill out a form about lifestyle, usage preferences etc, in order for the adviser to give as customised service as possible.

The personal adviser is preferably an elderly person as well, perhaps a retired persons hired for part-time work by Telenor. We decided on this since many senior citizens feel more comfortable with people in their own age.

The meeting will last 2-3 hours, and one will go through how to set up the phone or tablet as well as teaching how to use its functions.

The customer will get his or her advisor’s contact info, and they can now contact this person if they ever have a problem with the phone or tablet. If the problem cannot be solved by phone, they can arrange a meeting either in the customer’s home or in the store.

The final idea is to a large extent built upon the POV. For example that a high level of service is provided both initially and over time. Even more straightforward is the focus on senior Norwegian citizens who want to but don't have the necessary support to fully enjoy telecommunication.
