The first step on our way to reimagine accessibility to telecommunication technologies to senior citizens was trying to understand them; who is our senior citizen, what is she/he doing in their everyday life, do they even have technological devices and if yes, how are they using them?

Therefore, we created the external stakeholder map categorizing our groups of interest. The map included seniors, people working in telecom stores, doctors helping seniors, and so on. We then assessed these different groups according to their relevance and importance for our purpose. In addition, we tried to evaluate their reachability and accessibility in Voss. It became pretty obvious that we had to include children and grandchildren of seniors in our map to get more information, as elderly people might be insecure in talking to us – strangers – and might underestimate their problems in using their devices.
