The hardest part was yet to come; the time was limited and so we decided to leave the conference hall to explore Voss and empathize with our stakeholders. By splitting up into teams we were able to get more and different insights to our challenge. We observed seniors on the street; some were being helped by their children, others were on their own and strolling around the main square, even others were meeting their fellows on the street, in the pharmacy or in a bar, taking their time to speak to one another. This was one of our major findings by simply observing; seniors valued speaking to one another personally. They took their time, sometimes standing next to each other for 20 minutes and talking about life, their family and simple things such as weather and how the day has been so far (yes, we were basically stalking seniors in Voss). Nothing else seemed to be more important to them.
